ST. HELENA MUSTARD CELEBRATION | FEBRUARY 2026
St. Helena hosted their official NVMC event at the St. Helena Welcome Center. Nearly 200 people attended the celebration with treats from Roman Holiday Gelato and Sam’s General Store. Roman Holiday Gelato brought sweet treats like a Mango Mustard sorbet which had a hint of spicy mustard, and Carmel Honey Mustard Gelato. Sam’s General Store brought tasty pastries as well as a cold brew with turmeric cold foam! They also had a visit from the St. Helena Star.

Sometimes it’s hard to catch a break. In the past several years Napa Valley has had its shares of catching fires and, as part of a world-wide pandemic of catching COVID in all of its forms.
Then, and not a minute too soon, along comes something definitely worth catching.
Mustard, that yellow diminutive flower that graces our vineyards and hills and even yards is back again this time of year with all the happiness and innocence and joy inherent in it.
Who wouldn’t want to catch hold of those feelings in the waking stretches of what seems like a way too long winter’s hibernation?
Jessel Miller was ignited in the best of ways with the news that the historic Napa Valley Mustard Festival was being refurbished and rebranded into an event with as much heart as ever but smaller and more befitting a bruised world—and a community—finding its footing in the midst of change. She began envisioning a cause for celebration, an event well worth Instilling a sense of normalcy and renewal, a haven of replenishment for families, couples, children, and friends.
And to know Jessel is to know that her enthusiasm for the panoramic views of these happy little flowers, for the rich heritage of celebrating their arrival, and for the joy of having something GOOD to celebrate is contagious. Dozens of artists and crafts makers have caught her excitement, producing colorful, vibrant pieces on canvases and paper large and small, in wall weavings and beads meticulously strung together to form bedazzling jewelry, in fabric dyed one-of-a-kind wearables, and in hand-crafted basketry. Photographers have caught her optimism, submitting lively and intense and leisurely photographs that prove there are so many different, lovely, exhilarating ways to view the world and a simple little yellow flower or the golden sea they form when combined.
But wait. There's more. Because Jessel is one of those "the more, the merrier" modern day Pied Pipers. She contacted Bougetz Winery right in back of her. Now Bougetz will feature a red wine labeled with this year's Mustard Celebration painting. Delicious pouring and tasting are promised by Bougetz.
And what is a mustard celebration without…mustard? In jars. Six different delectable types with that rich, merry label on each one
The result is a beautiful, uplifting eye candy party, The Napa Valley Mustard Celebration. Check out the specials and events all throughout the valley from January through March. When little else seems to be these days, this is something well worth catching.
